Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that Nepal is an attractive destination for world tourism.
Addressing a gathering of tourism entrepreneurs in the capital city on Thursday, PM Deuba said world’s tallest peak Mt Everest, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha and other geographically diverse areas are the attractions for tourism in Nepal. “Nepal is the world’s panoramic and beautiful country. I have not seen such a country in the world. The attraction of tourists in such a beautiful country as usual,” the PM said.
Tourists wish to come to Nepal and are visiting as well but we are yet to offer more facilities, he added. The PM was of the opinion that foreign exchange can be earned if the inflow of tourists was more.
On the occasion, PM Deuba, who is also the Nepali Congress President, said that NC would never lose the polls. “Party’s candidates have lost in the polls. I will discuss this issue in the party’s central committee soon,” he added.
The PM said that NC’s ideology and thoughts would be taken to the people to make the party further stronger.
Senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel said all sides’ attention was needed to boost tourism, so that country’s economy would prosper.
On a different note, he said professional association rather than the ethnic organization could be made the sister organization of the party make it healthy and robust.
On the occasion, Minister for Information and Communications Mohan Bahadur Basnet shared the information that the government had announced free Wifi region to the Sagarmatha area and the works to its implementation had begun.
“Budget is allocated to ensure free Wifi in the Sagarmatha and Annapurna base camp areas to ensure communication facility to the tourists,” he added.
Similarly, former minister Dipak Khadka lauded the initiatives taken by the tourism entrepreneurs to reinvigorate Nepali Congress. It further helps to bring a renaissance to the party’s sister organizations, according to him.
