Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has pledged to make the cemetery of Kalu Pandey located at Chandragiri-1 a touristic and historic site.
Inaugurating the Second Indradaha Tourism Festival here Wednesday, the PM said that the cemetery of Kalu Pandey would be developed as a touristic and historic place so as to recognize Pandey’s contribution to the country’s unification.
“Kalu Pandey has also equal contribution in Nepal’s nation building for his support to Prithvi Narayan Shah. As a champion of national unity, his cemetery should be protected and promoted,” the PM said.
The PM also announced to make a statue of Kalu Pandey in his cemetery premises at Dahachok. On the occasion, PM Oli opined to protect the forts developed by our ancestors.
On the occasion, Province Assembly Lawmaker Rama Ale Magar and Mayor of Chandragiri Municipality Dhanraj Giri also echoed PM’s voice to develop the site as a tourist spot.
Likewise, PM Oli was handed over a memorandum for the development of Dahachowk area.
Similarly, PM Oli honoured the elderly citizens by draping them with shawls.
Furthermore, Oli also offered flowers at the cemetery of Kalu Pandey. Likewise, PM Oli laid a foundation stone of a view tower to be constructed by Chandragiri Municipality in the location from where Gorkha, Dhading and Nuwakot districts can be viewed. The five-storied view tower would be constructed at the cost of Rs 3 million.
