The factional Central Committee meeting of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) led by Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has decided to oust Prime Minister KP Oli from NCP chairmanship.
The Standing Committee’s decision to that end was endorsed by the faction’s Central Committee meeting that has was held in the Capital on Tuesday. The proposal to that end was tabled by leader Bhim Rawal.
The meeting held at a banquet in Kathmandu decided to take action against Oli, said a leader who participated in the meeting. The meeting was said to attended by more than 310 members of the 447-member NCP Central Committee.
Oli is accused of acting against national and party interests, repeatedly violating party decisions, dissolving Parliament, and attacking the constitution.
The Central Committee meeting of the Oli group was held in Baluwatar on Tuesday. The Oli faction has expanded its Central Committee to 1,199 members and named it General Convention Organizing Committee.
