Chairman of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prachanda-Nepal faction Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda has objected to the statement made by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli that the ‘people’s war’ was a rotten pumpkin.

At a meeting organized by the Gandaki Province Committee of the faction in Pokhara on Tuesday, Prachanda said that he was ashamed to see the leaders who were involved in the ‘people’s war’ switching to the KP Oli faction.

“Friends who were involved in the people’s war have gone there. I am ashamed. How could they hear the statement that people’s war is rotten pumpkin?” questioned Prachanda.

Prachanda accused PM Oli of political dishonesty.

“Parliament was dissolved in the name of dispute within the party. As long as there is a party, there is a dispute. There will be no dispute within the party only after the advent of communism,” said Prachanda.

On a separate note, Prachanda claimed that his own group will get the name and sun election symbol of the NCP.

“We have 70 percent of central members,” he said, “According to the law on political parties, the name and election symbol of the NCP is ours.”

Prachanda said that he was confident that the court would decide to reinstate the parliament as per the constitution.
