Biratnagar, May 4
A Province Assembly meeting of Province 1 has drawn the attention of the government to increase the size of social security allowance, and stop deforestation.
The meeting started from Thursday. The social security allowance should be increased in the upcoming fiscal year 2075\76 budget to Rs 5,000 per person each month, and the size of monthly allowance given to a single woman be also raised, said PA member Ambika Thapa.
Likewise, another PA member Upendra Ghimire stressed the need for curbing deforestation, referring to around 200 hectares of forests being destroyed every year in Morang. Bina Devi Rai emphasised creating a master-plan for developing tourism in the province to attract tourists for the province’s prosperity. SA will meet again at 1pm today.
