Provincial laws incorporate all sectors: CM Gurung

Chief Minister of Province-4, Prithvi Subba Gurung, has said provincial laws would be formulated by incorporating all sectors on the basis of the Constitution of Nepal and international agreements.

Inaugurating an interaction jointly organised by the National Federation of the Disabled Nepal, Kaski, and International Nepal Fellowship (INF) here today, Chief Minister Gurung stressed on effective implementation the laws.

Suggestions would be sought from all sides in course of formulating the laws, he shared

Similarly, Deputy-Speaker Srijana Sharma opined that provincial laws would be formulated keeping in mind the constructive suggestions for additional rights.

Provincial assembly member Gayetri Gurung expressed the view that the province-4 would be made a model province of federalism implementation by guaranteeing the rights of persons living with disabilities.

Inf Cluster Manager Bishnu Giri reminded that the 2011 census had recorded 513,321 persons with disabilities in Nepal. Of them, 280,086 are male and 233,235 female.

On the occasion, Action on Disability Right and Development distributed 72 sets of device mobile worth Rs 1.4 million to 72 blind people from 10 districts of province-4, said Chairperson of the organisation, Dr Bijendra Pokharel.
