The state 5 government has kicked off the publicity drive for the Visit Lumbini Year-2076 BS from today.
The campaign commenced with the slogan ‘Visit Lord Buddha’s birth place, Spread the message of peace’ aims to attract as many as two million tourists to the birth place of Lord Buddha- Lumbini.
Organizing an interaction programme among the local media persons and tourism entrepreneurs at Hetauda today, the state government has extended an open invitation to all the State no 5 folks to visit the birthplace of Lord Buddha in Lumbini.
At the programme, Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment of State no 3 Arun Nepal received the invitation and pledged to play any role to make the Visit Lumbini-2076 a success.
Visit Lumbini-2076 Publicity Sub-Committee coordinator Bharat KC shared that the Campaign would officially start from Buddha Purnima that falls on May 18.
The state government has allocated over Rs 400 million for the campaign. Plans have it that the tourists visiting Lumbini would be given a tour to places – Tilaurakot- where Lord Buddha spent his live as a prince, Devdadha in Rupandehi where Lord Buddha had his mother’s and spouse’s maternal home Ramgram where there is relic of Lord Buddha among others.
The campaign is aimed at assisting in identifying historical and archaeological significances and conserving them besides promoting local tourism, it was shared. –
