Short-route vehicles to resume from Sunday; domestic flights from June 15

The government of Nepal has adopted a policy to ease lockdown resuming shops, factories and transport serves in various phases under the new modality.

COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC) has proposed to resume public vehicles within the district. With this proposal, public vehicles will be allowed to run in the three districts of the Kathmandu Valley from June 7.

However, a public vehicle is not allowed to carry more than half of its capacity.

According to the proposal, shops, departmental stores, shopping malls, hair saloon, private office vehicles and motorcycles will be allowed to run in the first phase.

All types of industries, domestic flight services, long-route vehicles, and religious sites will be allowed to resume from June 15. However long-route vehicles are not allowed to carry passengers more than of their capacity.

This will apply only to those districts which low-risk of infection. The districts with high-risk of Coronavirus cases, will be shielded under the new modality.
