The government of Switzerland has reiterated its support in various developmental sectors in Nepal. Director General of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), Ambassador Manuel Sager, while visiting Nepal on the occasion of 60 years of the Swiss Development Cooperation in Nepal, pledged support to Nepal.
During his visit, Ambassador Sager held high-level meetings with the Nepali authorities, including Finance Minister, Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada, and Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shanker Das Bairagi. He also met with representatives of international development partners. In addition, Ambassador Sager visited Swiss funded projects in and around Ramechhap district.
The Swiss Cooperation Strategy for Nepal 2018-2021 foresees total disbursements in Nepal of approximately Rs 14.7 billion for four years and emphasises on inclusive federal state building, promotion employment and income, and contribution to safety of Nepali migrant workers.
