Tribhuvan Army Club continues to lead the scoreboard with the total 186 medals (87 gold, 55 silver and 44 bronze) to its name so far in the ongoing eighth National Games in the State 5.
APF Club has followed TAC in second position with 115 medals (35 gold, 36 silver and 44 bronze). Likewise, Nepal Police Club has secured third position with 98 medals (33 gold, 33 silver and 32 bronze), while state 3 fourth with 79 medals (16 gold, 24 silver and 39 bronze).
State 5 has got 57 medals (seven gold, 17 silver and 33 bronze), far-west state 31 (seven gold, five silver and 19 bronze) and Gandaki state 46 (six gold, 11 silver and 29 bronze).
State 2 has grabbed 27 medals (six gold, seven silver and 14 bronze), state 1 the total 57 medals (four gold, 16 silver and 37 bronze), Non-Resident Nepali Association eight (four gold and four bronze) and Karnali state 10 (two gold, two silver and six bronze)
A total of 5,211 players have participated in the Games for 372 gold; 372 silver and 563 bronze medals. The national sports event will be closed tomorrow. The Games that began on 2038 BS with the promise of holding it in every two years, but no editions except the three have been regular so far. Five competitions under the Games that was formally inaugurated on April 18, had begun on April 10.
Banke hosted the maximum competitions including men’s football, boxing, volleyball, table tennis, wushu, Judo, handball, karate, hockey, shooting, gymnastic, cycling, fencing, swimming, and men’s cricket. Other competitions such as bodybuilding, soft tennis, lawn tennis, taekwondo, sepak takraw, kabaddi, chess, kho kho, squash, paraglding, wrestling, golf and triathlon were held in Dang, Rupandehi, Bardiya, Lalitpur, Kaski, Kapilvastu and Kathmandu .
All the seven states; the three security bodies– Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepal Army– and the Non Resident Nepali Association have participated in the Games which also includes weightlifting, basketball and full contact karate
