The high level coordination committee headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Ishwor Pokhrel has directed the mechanism headed by Chief Secretary to effectively implement the address the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli made to the nation on Friday evening.
The meeting of the high level committee held after PM’s address on control of Covid-19 directed Chief Secretary to effectively advance the activities so that issues raised in PM’s address would be implemented.
Following the meeting, government Spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Dr Yubraj Khatiwada said PM’s address made clear the government’s activities and priorities.
“As people’s movement further creates fear, the long route bus service and air service have been halted,” he said, reiterating that the supply of essential goods would not be disrupted at all.
The taskforce led by Chief Secretary would also forward discussion between the concerned ministries and embassies on keeping Nepalis stranded at various airports in quarantines after the air flights are halted.
The trend of not checking patients suspected of coronavirus by both private and public hospitals must end, he said. The government would provide the necessary medical equipment and kits for check up.
Similarly, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai, informed that the high level coordination committee held thorough discussion how effectively the direction given by the PM could be implemented.
