Biratnagar, May 14
Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has said that a new leadership in the party was just to make the party strong.
At a press conference organized by Morang chapter of Nepal Press Union at Biratnagar today, Koirala said that the incumbent leadership was the main reason behind the NC’s defeat in the elections.
Saying the general convention of the party should be called as soon as possible even after amending the party’s statute, he said gathering power by party president against party statue and consensus was like inviting the totalitarianism.
The NC leader said the Nepal visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the significant achievement for the country and stressed the positive impacts on tourism sector due to Indian PM Modi’s visit should be utilized in a proper way.
