Three including police inspector killed in bomb explosion in Dhanusha

Three persons including a police inspector was killed in a powerful bomb explosion in Dhanusha District. A father and a son were killed in the explosion that exploded at around 12 PM in Mahendranagar market of Chhireshwornath Municipality Ward no 5 of Dhanusha according to Dhanusha Police spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police Rameshwor Karki.

Rajesh Shah and his son Ananda died on the spot when the IED(Improvised Explosive Device) planted in front of their home exploded. According to District Police Office, Dhanusa, Police Inspector Amir Kumar Dahal, injured in the same incident, also died during treatment.

Rajesh’s 73-year-old father Bhikhari, son Prakash and daughter Nikki were also injured in the incident. They are undergoing treatment at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan.  The Shah family informed police and the IED exploded as the police team was trying to confirm whether the bag was a bomb.

However, the person and reason behind the planting of the IED is not yet known. According to spokesperson DSP Rameshwor Karki, further investigation for the incident is underway.
