Rabindra Tiwari won the title of the Hyundai Open Golf Tournament here at the Gokarna Golf Club today.
Played under Stableford ¾ handicap format, the six-handicapper Tiwari accumulated 41 points to win the net section trophy. Tiwari, who carded a birdie on the fifth hole and faced bogeys on the ninth, 16th and 16th holes, received the gift voucher worth Rs 100,000 and Cool Pad smartphone along with the trophy.
Bharat Bastakoti came second on countback after he was tied on 40 points with Bhairaja Pandey. Bastakoti had scored 20 points on the back nine, while Pandey earned 19 points. Along with the runner-up trophy, Bastakoti received the gift voucher worth Rs 50,000 and Cool Pad smartphone. Pandey was second-runner up and he received the gift voucher worth Rs 20,000 and Cool Pad smartphone.
Prithvi Malla won the gross section trophy with the score of 39 points. Malla got the gift voucher worth Rs 50,000 and Cool Pad smartphone along with the trophy.
South Korean golfer Miae Li lifted the women’s section title with 42 points and she received the trophy along with gift voucher worth Rs 20,000 and Cool Pad smartphone. Sadbhav Acharya saved pars on eight holes and carded a birdie on his way to winning the junior category trophy with 39 points. He received the gift voucher worth Rs 20,000 and Cool Pad smartphone along with the trophy.
Former Chief of the Army Staff Gen Gaurav SJB Rana bagged the senior section title with 35 points and he received the trophy, gift voucher worth Rs 20,000 worth gift voucher and Cool Pad smartphone. Likewise, Madhav Simkhada was the best among Hyundai vehicle owners and he got the trophy, gift voucher worth Rs 20,000 and Cool Pad smartphone.
Similarly, Vijay Shrestha Einhaus won the most birdies award with a total of four birdies. Hridesh Kumar Singh bagged the closest-to-the-pin award, while Tashi Dong claimed the longest drive trophy. They received the gift voucher worth Rs 10,000 and Cool Pad smartphone each.
A total of 127 golfers took part in the two-day event sponsored by Laxmi Intercontinental Pvt Ltd, the sole authorized distributor of Hyundai vehicles in Nepal. South Korean Ambassador to Nepal Park Young Sik, Chairman of Laxmi Group Ganesh Bahadur Shrestha and President of Gokarna Golf Club Suhrid Ghimire handed over the prizes to the winners.
