Tribhuwan University holds 45th convocation in capital

The 45th Convocation Ceremony of Tribhuwan University held in the capital on Thursday at Pulchowk Engineering Campus. A total of 10,183 students participated in the ceremony. A total of 3,703 students from the management faculty, 2,091 from the humanities, 1,186 of engineering, 1,098 of science and 864 students of medical field participated during the convocation ceremony.

Addressing on the ceremony, Minister for Education, Science and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokharel said that the government is working to take initiatives to establish education as one of the significant milestone in order to fulfill  the goal to maintain prosperity in the country.

According to Convocation Main Celebration Committee member-secretary Pashupati Adhikari, last year, 9,504 students had participated in the Convocation. Before the availability of an online form, this number would be in a range of around 7,000.

On the occasion, faculty toppers were awarded the medals. Similarly, 180, 33, 132 and 771 graduate and postgraduate degree holders from the law, forestry, agriculture and veterinary, education respectively were also part of the program. Likewise, 85 Ph.D. and 40 MPhil students were also part of the ceremony.
