RAIN and snow will plague Britain as a new low-pressure weather front from the atlantic sweeps across the nation before drifting off into the North Sea by the end of the week, the Met Office has forecast.Meteorologist Aidan McGivern stated that as the rain from the weather system collides with cold air, snow will fall on hills.
He explained: “By Wednesday night and into the early hours of Thursday the next weather system will move into western parts of Britain and it is during the early hours of Thursday that we will see outbreaks of showery rain across the country and as that bumps into slightly cold air across central areas we will see some hill snow for parts of Wales and Northern England.
“Elsewhere again there will be clear spells and the showers will be in most likely western parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland and a few western districts of England and Wales, but under any clear spells once more we will see a touch of frost.
“Temperatures will drop a degree or so below freezing.
