Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has directed the ministers for home and physical infrastructure and transport; and the officials from both to immediately adopt measures to reduce road accidents. The PM issued such directive to bring plans in force in order to reduce the number of road accidents which have been occurred in different parts of the country leaving a huge loss of human lives.
On the occasion, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Basanta Kumar Nembang, secretaries of both the ministries, high-ranking traffic police officials and other officials from the concerned departments were directed to enforce rules for road safety.
Getting emotional , PM Oli said that nowadays road accidents are taking place in large volume and this has made me feel sorry for those who lost their families and relatives due to the accidents. Thus, Immediate plans are needed to prevent the road accidents,” PM Oli said.
According to PM Oli’s press advisor Surya Thapa, PM Oli has also directed the related ministers to seriously observe the reasons for road accidents and looking at the aspects of training to the drivers, re-examination of the driving license and permission on use of roads. Likewise, PM Oli has also asked to prepare reports on the causes of road accidents and immediately initiate the steps to take actions accordingly.
