The Kathmandu Valley has witnessed smoke and haze Sunday as well.
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that the air in the atmosphere in several parts of Nepal was in static condition.
It added that the polluting particles are floating in the air resulting in an increased level of pollution. Such a condition is likely to lead to respiratory problems and eye irritation.
According to the Department, the chance of improvement in the atmospheric condition for some days seems slim.
The Department has also urged people to stay indoors or avoid travel except for essential work.
Meanwhile, due to the poor visibility the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) has been closed and suspended regular flight operation. As per the TIA sources, the flight has been closed since Sunday morning.
