Will sternly deal with people spreading terrorism: Home Minister



Bhaktapur, April 26

Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ has said people abetting and trying to spread terrorism and disturbing the law and order in the country would be sternly dealt with.

The Home Minister said this after visiting Madhyapur Thimi Municipality mayor Madan Sundar Shrestha at the Nepal-Korea Friendship Hospital at Madhyapur Thimi today. Mayor Shrestha was injured in an armed attack by some miscreants at his house on Saturday and he is undergoing treatment at the hospital.

On the occasion, the Home Minister acquired information on the health condition of Mayor Shrestha.

“A group is trying to be active in causing obstructions in the law and order, and spreading terror in the country at present. We will root it out,” the Home Minister said, adding that the attackers have been identified and action would be taken against them.

Home Minister Thapa had inquired about the incident with the security forces at the hospital ward after meeting Mayor Shrestha.

Chief District Officer Drona Pokharel and Police Superintendent Kiran Rana had briefed the Home Minister about the incident and the progress made in connection with the investigations into the incident.
