A birthing centre has come into operation at the health post in Pala of Kathekhola rural municipality-1, Baglung district. The centre was established at the well-equipped new building of the health post completed recently.

A Nepali citizen has been murdered in India. The deceased has been identified as Lokendra Chand, 48, of Tallosworad of Baitadi district, according to Police Inspector at the District Police Office, Baitadi, Deepak Patali.

The Newar community is observing the Sithi Nakha festival today as per time-honoured tradition.
