Today’s national key news has been centered on the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) led by Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ and the arrest of his cadres from different places.
According to the District Police Office, Nawalparasi, party’s district in-charge Ganga Gyawali was detained last night from his home at Bardghat-4 of Nawalparasi West. Similarly three cadres of Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav)-led group has been arrested. They are Bhesh Bahadur Sunar and Sunil Kumal of Vyas municipalityand Amar Budha of Jumla.
Apart from that, the statement of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) senior leader and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar also took the attention. At a press conference jointly organized by the Press Chautari Nepal and Press Centre Nepal, district chapter here today, leader Nepal said that the government was always open to hold talks with disgruntled parties including Biplav led Communist Party of Nepal.
Meanwhile, the opposition of the Chief Minister of Gandaki State, Prithvi Subba Gurung against Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) led by Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ got interest. According to him there is no meaning of agenda-less protest of Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav)-led group. He also urged that the Biplav-led group to sit for talks by giving up the illegal and violent activities like obstructing development construction activities and damaging state’s property.
Besides the political news, the economy boosting news related to the Nepal’s tourism got a glimpse. It says that the Department of Tourism has collected revenue of around Rs 40 million in four days from the mountain climbing permits. The Department has been issuing the permit for spring since March 23.
Moreover, the information associated with Nepal’s identity i.e. religion, culture and peace has been noticed as an international conference on role of ‘religion and culture for peace and reconciliation in the South Asia’ kicked off in Lumbini from today. The event aims to develop Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Budhha, into an international peace centre.
In the two-day event jointly organised by the Nepal Government, Lumbini Development Trust and University of Winchester, UK, 24 experts from over 15 countries including the UK, Canada, Bangladesh, Netherland, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India and Nepal will present working papers on the different topics.
